Sunmi aka Mimi is leaving Wonder Girls to focus on her education.

I knew something was wrong when I saw "JYP ENTERTAINMENT OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING WONDER GIRLS is up on wondergirlsworld.com" on their twitter
Here is the official statement from JYP on the Wonder Girls website.
"JYP Entertainment has announced that Mimi from the Wonder Girls has decided to postpone her musical career to pursue an academic career. Mimi, the rest of the Wonder Girls members, her family, and JYP Entertainment have collectively decided to postpone her musical career for the time being. JYP Entertainment said, “Mimi had a truly memorable, once in a lifetime experience while living in the U.S. and touring over 50 cities. We support her decision to pursue an academic career at this time. We will also support Mimi if she chooses to return to singing after her academics are complete. In the meantime, she plans to frequent JYP facilities and continue her dance and vocal classes.” Mimi will remain with the Wonder Girls in the U.S., continuing with any scheduled performances and activities until the end of February. As of March, she will return to Korea and prepare to focus on her studies. JYP has named 17 year old Lim as the newest member to the quintet. Lim has gone through extensive training at the JYP Academy for three years and is fluent in four languages: English, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese."
Even though when watching videos of the girls I felt mimi was unhappy and withdrawn, I am still shocked at this.
First and foremost people have been commenting on the girls facebook about protesting and petitioning-really? The girl is obviously uncomfortable with where he career is headed and just wants to return home to Korea and get a good education. It could be years, if at all, for her to return. No matter how you feel about the matter a petition will do nothing except make in harder on everyone involved in the decision. I respect the decision and hope that people will continue supporting the Wonder Girls because they need it more than ever now. Also, this has happened once before and look how far Yubin has come!

I have been looking for videos and I found quite a few with Lim as part of "jyp sisters" unfortunately most of them are too low quality to tell who is who and the few that aren't Lim gets no solo lines.

I will agree that the pressure of being away from home put a great amount of stress on mimi, it obviously put stress on all of the girls just watch this episode of Golden Fishery.
(I suggest watching all 6 parts)
But I can't help but wonder how sohee feels about this?
JYPE is saying that because of the contract they can not force sunmi to stay in the group. allkpop
There is still to much in the air to make concrete conclusions so we'll just have to wait and see.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Lim starts talking at 5 minutes in.
